Privacy & Security
PawsinTrust™ is committed to protecting member information, planning records, and continuity-of-care documentation. This page explains how we do that.
Plan Ahead. Protect Their Future. Because They're Family.™
This page is maintained by PawsinTrust™ to answer common security and privacy questions. It describes the controls and practices currently enabled in the platform; it is not an independent certification, audit report, or legal guarantee.
Our commitment
Families come to PawsinTrust™ to plan for the people and animals they love. That requires trust. We design our platform with access controls designed to protect your planning information and restrict access to you and the people and services you authorize.
We do not sell member information, use planning content to train third-party AI models, or share records with advertisers.
Data protection
Your account and records are protected by several layers of defense:
Secure account access
Password-protected accounts with secure session handling and self-service password reset.
Protected member records
Records are scoped to your authenticated account.
Document storage protections
Uploaded documents and generated plans are kept in private storage and downloaded through short-lived signed links.
Access controls
Database-level access controls and permissions restrict records to authorized accounts and services. Administrative access is limited to authorized personnel.
Ongoing platform improvements
We regularly review security practices and apply updates.
Document ownership
You control the planning information you create. The animal profiles, caregiver designations, care instructions, and uploaded documents in your account can be updated and managed by you.
You control your planning records and may update them as circumstances change. When planning information changes, documents can be regenerated so caregivers always have the latest version.
Planning record integrity
Continuity-of-care plans only help if they stay accurate and recoverable. PawsinTrust™ maintains several safeguards:
- Document version tracking. Generated documents are recorded with version and update timestamps so you know which copy is current.
- Event logging. Key record and document events, such as document generation and caregiver changes, are written to an append-only event log.
- Change safeguards. Documents are versioned, and superseded copies are marked so the current version is identifiable.
- Soft-delete safeguards. Many planning records are marked deleted and retained internally rather than removed immediately, reducing the risk of accidental loss.
Professional partner standards
The PawsinTrust™ Professional Partner Directory includes attorneys, veterinarians, and other professionals who support family animal planning. We take directory quality seriously:
- Partner applications are reviewed before directory placement.
- Directory visibility and placement are controlled by PawsinTrust™.
- Professional credentials may be reviewed when applicable.
- Not all applicants are automatically approved.
Listing in the directory is not an endorsement of any specific professional service. Members should evaluate any professional before engaging them.
Important disclosures
- PawsinTrust™ is not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice or represent you in legal matters.
- PawsinTrust™ is not a veterinary practice. We do not provide medical care, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations.
- We do not provide legal, veterinary, tax, financial, or insurance advice. Members should consult qualified professionals, including those listed in the Professional Partner Directory, when appropriate.
